Frequently Asked Questions

Good to know

1 / Testing and Inspection

Testing installations before and after work is our commitment to your safety. An untested installation is like cars with no brakes on a motorway with no barriers. Testing is a technical exercise which at Budii is always performed by a level 3 qualified engineer. We have a duty to you to ensure that your installation is safe to be in service and we make no compromises to ensure that is the case. Budii complies with all aspects of BS7671 - 2018 - Amendment 2 - 2022.

2 / Making Good

Budii Engineers are highly qualified and experienced at their discipline. They are also very experienced at looking after homes and business environments. If you want a One Stop Shop rather than dealing with multiple trades, Budii will take care of you from the first chip into a wall through to painting.

3 / Landlords

All rented domestic, commercial, shop or office  properties must now be electrically inspected every 5 years.

An EICR must include:

  - The results of the inspection and test (satisfactory or unsatisfactory).

  - If applicable, a list of observations requiring remedial work or further investigation. All work to be remedied within 28 days.

  - The date the next inspection and test is due.

Landlords who fail to conduct an EICR (and any work it recommends within 28 days) during a tenancy or before a new tenancy commences face a fine of up to £30,000.

4 / Will we Certify your Work?

At Budii we only certify our own work, to do otherwise invalidates our insurance. If you wish to supply the parts, providing they are fit for purpose then we can use them. In practice, most of the time our buying rates with our wholesalers are excellent, and we always pass on the benefit.

5 / Certificates

All Electrical work in the UK requires certification with no exceptions. For any piece of work Budii will issue one of the following:

  • Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate

  • Electrical Installation Certificate (Inc Schedule of Inspections)

  • Electrical Installation Condition Report

The certificate will be issued on receipt of final payment.

6 / Waste and Packaging

Disposal of packaging or waste materials is your responsibility to attend to in most instances. For minor works this is rarely a problem as domestic recycling will manage it adequately. For major work, waste will form part of our engagement discussions and can be managed by us on your behalf.

7 / Insurance

We have £5m Public and Product Liability Insurance.

We have Professional Indemnity Insurance as well as Employers Liability Insurance. You can view our insurances on request.
